Ardrox 9D1B is a non-aqueous, solvent-based developer spray produced by Chemetall used in non-destructive testing (NDT). It features a quick-drying liquid suspension of inert white powder with low sulfur and halogen content, designed to highlight surface flaws like cracks and porosity during dye penetrant inspections.

Key Product Specifications
Type: Non-aqueous solvent-based developer (Type I/Type II compatible)
Packaging Size: Commonly available in 400 ml aerosol cans or 5-litre bulk containers
Chemical Profile: Low levels of sulfur, halogens, and alkali metals
Drying Time: Fast-evaporating solvent system leaving a thin, matt white coat

Applications & Uses
Industries: Aerospace manufacturing, aircraft maintenance (MRO), general metal fabrication, and automotive engineering.
Defect Detection: Identifies surface cracks, laps, porosity, and casting flaws.
Compatibilities: Works efficiently with both color-contrast (visible red) and fluorescent dye penetrants

How to Apply
Surface Prep: Clean and dry the component thoroughly, then apply the penetrant dye and remove excess surface residue.
Agitation: Shake the Tool Centre aerosol or container well before application to evenly mix the settled powder.
Spray Technique: Spray an even, thin white layer from a distance of roughly 30 cm onto the test area.
Development: Allow a minimum development time of 10 to 30 minutes before inspecting under appropriate visible or ultraviolet (UV) lighting.
